I was thrilled to receive an invitation to join the Damex Pro League last summer. The tournament format, which brought together 60 top players to compete for a 20,000€ prize, was a fun and exciting way to play high-level basketball during the summer. The tournament atmosphere was energetic, and it was a great opportunity to compete against some of the best players in the world.
The first day of the Damex Pro League began with a collective training session for all 60 players. Coaches took notes of each player’s performance to prepare for the draft that followed. During the draft, players were selected to play for the participating teams, which was an exciting moment for everyone involved. I got selected by the Gators team, which happened to be the one I liked the most by chance. The night concluded with a celebratory dinner, providing players with an opportunity to socialize and bond with their new teammates before the intense week of competition began.
Throughout the rest of the week, the players engage in intense training and practice sessions during the day, and then face off in thrilling matches each night. The competition is fierce, as each team battles to come out on top and take home the prize.
As a player, practicing every day with such talented individuals from all around the world and competing against equally skilled teams each night was incredibly exciting. However, the best part of the Damex Pro League was getting to know so many new people from different countries and spending a full week together. It was a truly fulfilling experience that I will always cherish.
We were able to make it through the group stage and into the semifinals, which was a thrilling achievement. We faced a very close game in the semifinals but ultimately managed to come out on top, and the crowd went crazy. It was a great moment. Making it to the final and being so close to winning the prize was an incredibly exciting experience. Both teams gave their all on the court, with fans cheering throughout the entire game. The atmosphere was amazing, and I enjoyed every second of it. Though we came up short in the end, the game was unforgettable, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of it.
One of the things that make the Damex Pro League so special is the level of talent and dedication that each player brings to the table. It’s clear that these are some of the most skilled and passionate gamers in the world, and watching them compete is truly a sight to behold.
